We use waste heat from the Winterthur waste incineration plant for our production and to heat our buildings. Almost 5,000 tonnes of steam are purchased annually, which corresponds to around 300,000 litres of heating oil. This enables us to avoid CO2 emissions of around 880 tonnes.
If this amount of CO2 had to be offset elsewhere, over 80,000 spruce trees would have to be planted.
