Press release dated 29 October 2026

Nicolas Buchmann to take over as head of Steinfels Swiss from 1 April 2027

Winterthur, 29 October 2026 – Nicolas Buchmann is to take over as head of Steinfels Swiss in Winterthur with effect from 1 April 2027. He succeeds Christian Koch, who is retiring at the end of April 2027 after many years of service to the company.

Nicolas Buchmann has many years’ experience in corporate management and strategic business development across various Swiss manufacturing and trading companies. Nicolas Buchmann has been managing Bergquellfisch Frutigen since 2021. During this time, he has played a key role in shaping the company’s reorientation. Business activities were refocused on the core business, production processes were optimised and new markets were opened up. This led to a successful financial turnaround.

With this appointment, Steinfels Swiss is opting for a succession plan within the Coop Group. Nicolas Buchmann will work alongside the existing management team to build on the successes of recent years and drive forward the strategic and financial development of Steinfels Swiss and Sherpa Tensing. The focus will be on the sustainable development of the business divisions, strengthening the market position and consistently capitalising on existing and new business opportunities.

Christian Koch has been at the helm of the company since January 2008. During this time, he has played a decisive role in shaping its development and establishing its leading market position in the Professional Care sector. Other key priorities during his tenure have been the consistent alignment of products and production with sustainability principles, as well as the expansion and modernisation of the Winterthur site. The company’s financial success has been secured through continuous strategic development over the years.

“I am proud and grateful for what we have achieved together over the past few years. This success is a testament to a great deal of energy, strong teamwork and tremendous dedication. I would like to express my sincere thanks to all my colleagues for this. I am delighted that Nicolas Buchmann will continue this journey together with the team,” says Christian Koch.
