They may differ in shape and color. But: All dangerous chemical products can be recognized by the fact that they are marked with one or more hazard symbols on the label. In a global world, it makes sense to harmonise these hazard labels internationally. This globally harmonized system - GHS for short - comes into force immediately. Until now, we were used to symbols on an orange background in Switzerland.
In future, the new, globally uniform hazard symbols, which are shown in black on a white background and framed in red, will indicate the hazards. Their appearance is reminiscent of warnings in road traffic.
By the way: the former poison classes have not been in use since 2005!
